INTERNSHIP + PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP

Gain valuable work experience and insight and build knowledge and skills with a motivational leader whose career path has included serving in the C-Suite of a multi-million dollar nonprofit, leading headquarters market Corporate Social Responsibility communications for a global Fortune 500 company, and entrepreneurship.

More than a siloed internship, the mentorship applies Abra's transformational coaching methodology to professional development for students, young professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

This year's 8-week summer mentorship/internship program begins June 13 and runs through August 5. 

​

What kind of work is involved with the internship?

The successful candidate will gain valuable work experience in marketing and sales, digital communications and social media management, and event planning. Summer projects will include:

  • Content planning and creation for abrakurt.com and monthly eNews

  • Social media management for LinkedIn, Facebook page, and Instagram, to include profile updates, posting, follower cultivation, and engagement

  • Marketing research, planning, and outreach for Abra’s coaching programs and workshops

  • Product development and marketing planning for Blissburg Candles

  • Event planning, ticket sales, silent auction, PR, and on-site support for Unite for Ukraine benefit concert

 

How does the mentoring part happen?

Abra will apply her transformational coaching methodology to professional development for this internship. Wednesday in-person work will include a Lunch + Learn hour during which Abra will coach on topics including:

  • Developing a growth mindset and leadership skills

  • Building a personal brand

  • Goal setting

  • Creating daily habits and rituals for success

  • Cultivating creativity

Position requires 10 hours/week commitment, to include 3 hours of in-person work at Abra’s home office in Ashburn, Virginia on Wednesdays, and one evening event on June 22. Hourly rate of $12 (paid 2x month as a 1099K contractor), priceless mentorship, and other perks to include your own office and lunch on in-person Wednesdays. Additional Zoom and in-person meeting attendance may be required with notice as needed. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required.
